New!!!! ZitSticka Killa Kit
BUILT FOR THE UP-AND-COMING, BLIND ZIT
KILLA is a zit patch powered by ZitSticka’s signature microdart technology. These tiny microdarts—far finer than a strand of your own hair—self-dissolve to flood the epicentre of your early-stage zit with targeted ingredients, clearing the upcoming drama before it gets real.
What exactly are ‘self-dissolving microdarts’?
Microdarts are the heroes of our products, and they dissolve within the epicentre of your pimple two hours after a KILLA is applied, flooding the heart of your zit with hard-working ingredients.
What kind of zits does KILLA work best on?
The blind, unidentifiable, hard-to-reach ones that greet you first thing in the morning. The deep, cystic shiners that pulse like a bass line. The early-stage, subcutaneous, upcoming ones that previously left you helpless. The type that topical creams will struggle to access.
What makes these any different from their much cheaper counterparts?
Most traditional zit patches are made from a simple hydrocolloid sticker, and can be super effective on surface level zits or those that have come to an obvious head. Oftentimes, though, they have limitations.
Do the microdarts hurt?
KILLA’s self-dissolving microdarts don’t hurt—rather, they elicit a tingling sensation that’s kind of satisfying—a signal that something’s about to happen, you know? Consider the feeling a strong tickle or a gentle sting.
Which naughty, nasty ingredients do I need a heads up about?
You'll be pleased to hear that all ZitSticka products are free of parabens, sulphates, mineral oil, animal oils, methylisothiazolinone, formaldehyde, benzalkonium chloride, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban, mercury, oxybenzone and other harmful, unsavoury things. ZitSticka does not test on animals, nor do we pay others to do so.
See those tiny spikes? Microdarts!
...and that flat surface on the right? A standard, hydrocolloid patch. KILLA's microdart technology targets the heart of a deep, cystic zit, a hard-to-reach place that standard patches can't access.
Available at Dermaspace Only (not sold via our website) $29

HOW TO CHOOSE THE BEST CLEANSER FOR YOUR SKIN TYPE
As a rule of thumb….if you have oilier skin then you will want to use a foaming or low foaming type cleanser. Foaming cleansers tend to do better at breaking up excess oil. Depending on how oily your skin is will determine the strength of the cleanser.
For normal to oil skin we recommend our Gentle Cleansing Gel.
This gel protect the skin’s delicate protective barrier as grease and impurities are gently washed away with this crystal-clear, no-soap, low-foaming gel. Unlike sulfates, volatile alcohols and other harsh cleansing agents that dissolve skin’s upper barrier as they clean (causing skin to feel tight, irritated and sensitive to other products), the plant-derived cleansers in Gentle Cleansing Gel are specifically formulated and tested to leave skin feeling beautifully clean and comfortable throughout the cleansing routine.
Does not contain fragrance, essential oils, colorants, volatile alcohols, urea, sulfates, acids, strong emulsifiers, lanolins, mineral oils, parabens or other commonly used sensitizers.
The next gel cleanser in our line-up is our Purifying Cleanser.
Good for Mild Acne-Prone, Oily, Moderate Acne-Prone and Comedogenic skin.
This gentle, sulfate-free cleanser has a uniquely thin consistency, allowing it to slip effortlessly beneath plugs blocking pores.
Pores stay clean down deep – where problems begin.
It contains a natural salicylic acid from Willow bark, plus foaming saponins from Yucca and other mild, naturally-derived cleansing agents dissolve surface oils and other debris on contact.
A patented blend of the most active fractions of Australian and New Zealand Tea Tree oils works quickly to balance hostile flora deep within pores without causing irritation or redness.
Skin feels ultra-clean and comfortable – never tight or dry.
Does not contain sulfates, benzoyl peroxide, colorants, synthetic fragrance or parabens.
Dry and sensitive skin should use cleanser with little to no detergent and they should foam little if at all. With sensitive skin you don’t want to dry out the natural sebum which helps protect the fragile barrier function. Generally speaking dry and sensitive skin should use cleansing milks like our Gentle Cleansing Lotion.
This cleanser gently dissolve makeup and other impurities that can irritate sensitive skin, without disturbing its crucial protective barrier.
This water-rinseable cleansing lotion rinses easily with warm water, so sensitive skin gets minimal contact during the cleansing process, and rinses completely, so skin isn’t exposed to the trauma of a toner.
Sensitive skin feels remarkably clean, fresh and moist, without the signs of irritation experienced with other cleansing systems.
Does not contain fragrance, essential oils, colorants, volatile alcohols, urea, sulfates, acids, strong
emulsifiers, lanolins, mineral oils, parabens or other commonly used sensitizers.
For a more medicated cleanser specifically for acne prone skin our Salicylic Face and Body wash is perfect.
Micro-exfoliating cleanser with 2% salicylic acid and 1% moisturizing and antimicrobial coconut oil at low pH 4.5 for enhanced dead cell removal. Removes surface dead cell build up to improve luminosity and even skin tone.

HOW TO GET RID OF MILIA (THOSE LITTLE WHITE BUMPS UNDER YOUR SKIN)
Milia….
What is it and how to get rid of it!
I get asked all the time what the tiny little white bumps are around the eyes and other places on the skin.
Here is a great post from skincare.com that couldn’t explain it better.
If you’ve landed here, then it’s very likely that you’ve already asked everyone you know what the small white bumps underneath your skin could be, done your internet research — and ultimately decided you desire the glowy, glass-skin look Instagram dreams are made of (#same) and want visible bumps gone for good. If you’ve ever tried to pop these types of bumps, formally called milia, then you know it’s nearly impossible and leaves behind angry red marks long after you’ve given up. To get the scoop on how to get rid of milia we tapped Miami-based dermatologist, Skincare.com consultant and Specific Beauty founder Dr. Heather Woolery-Lloyd.
What Is Milia?
Although you might think milia is a type of acne, according to Dr. Woolery-Lloyd, they’re actually a build up of “tiny white bumps under the skin that contain keratin, the protein in our skin, hair and nails.” You can get milia regardless of age; it can be found in anyone from infants to adults, and it usually appears around the eyes and nose.
How Dermatologists Get Rid of Milia
Luckily, milia is easily removed by a dermatologist. “Unlike a pimple, milia do not have a natural opening to express the contents through, so a sterile needle is used to form a small opening and then contents are expressed,” says Dr. Woolery-Lloyd. “With this treatment, they typically heal without any scarring.”
Can You Get Rid of Milia at Home?
While there’s no DIY method for getting rid of milia, Dr. Woolery-Lloyd suggests adding products with salicylic or glycolic acid into your skin-care routine. These acids may not treat existing bumps, but they may help reduce your chances of new milia appearing. Topical retinoids can also be helpful for preventing milia, says Dr. Woolery-Lloyd, “because they can increase cell-turnover rate in the skin, leading to improved exfoliation of dead skin cells on skin’s surface.” One thing you should never do, however, is pick at them yourself. Because, as previously mentioned, milia don’t have a natural opening, and if you try emptying them at home it could lead to irritation and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

DERMASPACE mentioned as BEST FACIAL in PNW by GOOP!
I always like to share any press we get so this is just a quick blog post letting you know that we have recently been listed as "the place" to go for skincare in the PNW by Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle blog GOOP.
We have already seen an increase in bookings so make sure to get on the books to ensure your spot - you are our #1 priority so please reach out to us if you have any issue booking.
Click on the photo on the right to read the write up - I love how they listed us as being in "Seattle, OR".....someone needs to learn how to proof read but thankfully there is only one true SEATTLE!!
Funny side story - back in the day, circa 1996, I was working at The Face Place doing the Iderm Facial you all know and love. The owner, Ernie Benson had a HUGE celebrity clientele and one day he was running behind and needed help putting his next client under the heat dome so I obliged. Unlike Dermaspace.....where there is just one bed per room....at the Face Place there are two beds per room so while one client was under the electrical another could be placed under the heat dome and you would stagger clients throughout the day.
So....I go into the room to help him put his client under the heat dome and to my surprise it was a young Gwyneth Paltrow, who was very sweet and introduced herself to me. At that moment I felt the presence of someone else in the room and I turned to look over my left shoulder and there was Brad Pitt (this was back when they dated.)
So......I've come full circle. Who knows - maybe Brad will enter my life once again too!
A fella can dream!

The Triple Threat For Younger Looking Skin
I get asked a lot what my advice is for more youthful skin and the first thing I tell my clients is that the best healthy-aging product you can buy is a SUNSCREEN.
Sunscreen is essential in protecting your skin no matter your skin color and no matter where you live. Often people in the Seattle area tell me they don’t wear a sunscreen because it’s grey and rainy but think of it this way…..if the sun is in the sky then you need to protect yourself. I always recommend minimum SPF30 but even an SPF15 that’s in your moisturizer will do the trick if you aren’t outside much.
The second thing I recommend to all of my clients is a RETINOL. Our Advanced Retinol visibly firms skin and reduces appearance of wrinkles and pores. It helps fade age spots and evens skin tone. Our Advanced Retinol also contains lipids which help restore moisture barrier and minimize any dryness or peeling from retinol.
And finally…….ANTIOXIDANTS…..which help prevent skin damage and reverse damage already incurred. Our treatments are rooted in antioxidant rich solutions and our Triple C&E Complex is one of our most popular serum options. Layer your antioxidants under sunscreen for added protection.
So there you have it……the triple threat for younger, healthier looking skin……SUNSCREEN, RETINOL AND ANTIOXIDANTS!
