Galvanic Current For Skincare!
Galvanic current, also known as direct current, has been used for decades in the field of aesthetics to rejuvenate and enhance the appearance of the skin. This technology involves the use of a small electrical current that is passed through the skin to stimulate cells and promote a more youthful, healthy complexion. Galvanic current is a safe and effective way to improve skin tone, texture, and firmness without invasive procedures or harsh chemicals.
One of the main benefits of galvanic current is its ability to improve skin hydration. The electrical current helps to increase the permeability of the skin, allowing it to absorb more moisture and nutrients from skincare products. This can be particularly helpful for those with dry or dehydrated skin, as it can help to plump and smooth the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Galvanic current is also effective for deep cleansing the skin. When combined with an appropriate cleanser, the electrical current can help to remove impurities and debris from the skin, leaving it feeling clean and refreshed. This can be particularly beneficial for those with oily or congested skin, as it can help to unclog pores and prevent breakouts.
Another benefit of galvanic current is its ability to promote collagen production. Collagen is a protein that is essential for maintaining the structure and elasticity of the skin. As we age, our bodies produce less collagen, which can lead to wrinkles and sagging skin. By stimulating collagen production, galvanic current can help to firm and tighten the skin, reducing the signs of aging.
Galvanic current can be used in a variety of different ways, depending on the specific needs of the individual. For example, it can be used in conjunction with serums or masks to enhance their effects. The electrical current helps to drive the active ingredients deeper into the skin, where they can be more effective. Galvanic current can also be used to enhance facial massage, as the electrical current helps to increase circulation and promote lymphatic drainage, reducing puffiness and promoting a more youthful appearance.
While galvanic current is generally safe for most people, it may not be suitable for those with certain medical conditions, such as pacemakers or epilepsy. It is important to consult with a qualified aesthetician or dermatologist before undergoing any galvanic treatments.
In conclusion, galvanic current is a safe and effective way to improve the appearance of the skin. Its ability to improve hydration, deep cleanse the skin, and promote collagen production make it a valuable tool in any skincare regimen. Whether used on its own or in combination with other treatments, galvanic current can help to promote a more youthful, healthy complexion.

INTRODUCING.......PROCELL MICROCHANNELING
IT’S MICRONEEDLING….EVOLVED!
MicroChanneling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that helps minimize the signs of aging, improve the appearance of scars/acne scars, rosacea, hyper-pigmentation, and skin tightening.
It improves skin elasticity, firmness, and tone. ProCell MicroChanneling induces new collagen and reduces the signs of aging via stimulation of your stem cells, and the introduction of potent peptides, growth factors, and stem cytokines.
COMMON QUESTIONS….
What do I need to do to prepare for my treatment?
If you get cold sores regularly, taking acyclovir or valacyclovir starting one day prior to your microchanneling will reduce the likelihood of a breakout due to your treatment.
Discontinue retinol (2% or higher) or tretinoin at least 3 days prior to treatment.
For your first treatment, (and treatments at .25mm in general) numbing cream is typically not necessary, and you can expect mild redness and swelling, and a tight, warm sensation for between 4 & 24 hours. (I will happily numb you for your comfort if needed)
If your liver, kidneys and immune system are healthy, taking an NSAID such as Ibuprofen 2 hours before treatment may reduce any discomfort.
If possible, please arrive at the office without makeup on, and with a clean, (and for men a clean shaven) face. Don’t worry though – I will take care of you if this isn’t possible!
If you’ve had Botox, Fillers or Threads injected you must wait at least two weeks before getting microchanneling. And you must be satisfied with the results before we can offer you any other treatments.
NO alcohol the evening before your treatment please.
How many treatment should I do?
The number of treatments necessary will range greatly depending on what we are treating. On average, for light anti-aging treatments, 1-2 treatments may be sufficient. For deeper wrinkles and acne scarring, 4-5 treatments may be required to achieve desired results. There is no limit to the number of treatments that one can receive as long as adequate time passes in-between each treatment. And as always, maintaining your investment with maintenance sessions is highly recommended. Your aesthetician will guide you on a treatment plan for your specific needs.
How long should I wait in between treatments?
We recommend 4 weeks.
Can I get this treatment if I have acne?
If you have active, inflamed acne then you will need to get that under control before having ProCell.
How long is the downtime?
Wait a minimum of 90 minutes before applying anything else to this skin apart from what your esthetician applies. This includes sunscreen, makeup, moisturizer, etc. It typically takes 24-72 hours for all redness and pinprick scabbing to disappear.
How will my face look immediately following a treatment?
There is a very wide range of normal reactions. Anything from little to no reaction, to a deep red flush. You may experience discomfort at the treatment site with transient redness and swelling which may last up to two hours or longer. The treated area may feel like a sunburn for a few hours after treatment.
What do you recommend for post treatment care?
Gentle cleanser and moisturizer the first week after treatment paired with the ProCell Post Care Kit. One week after treatment you can do a gentle manual exfoliant to help remove dead skin cells and build up. Two weeks after treatment we recommend coming back into DERMASPACE for a Wrap n Zap Express Facial.
What are the contraindications?
Anyone with a condition that seriously impairs their immune system
Currently being treated for cancer
If you hyperpigment easily or develop keloid scars.
Pregnancy
Uncontrolled diabetes
Clients on Accutane (or any related acne medication should be discontinued for a minimum of 6 months prior to undergoing MicroNeedling.)
Active Herpes Simplex in the treatment area (treatment is possible once the outbreak has healed, however it may be advisable to take prescription strength antiviral medication to keep this condition in remission during treatment series.)
Severe dry skin (if your skin is overly dry, you will need to start a moisturizing regimen and ensure the condition is under control prior to undergoing MicroNeedling treatment.)
Any active inflammatory skin condition (such as eczema, psoriasis, infection, rash or any type of dermatitis at the treatment site – it may further aggravate the condition)
