FAQS
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
DERMASPACE is located on the 13th floor of the Medical Dental Bldg in downtown Seattle directly behind the Nordstrom flagship store.
509 Olive Way, Suite 1315 Seattle WA 98101
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CONTACT YOU?
We do not have dedicated front desk staff. We use an external live answering service during working hours that will take messages and relay those to our team or we will use our voicemail system.
Please leave a message and we will always return it ASAP. You can also text us anytime.
You can call or text us at 206-849-6620
Our email is: info@dermaspace.com
WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?
We are open by appointment only, 7 days a week which means if we don’t have clients for part of all of the day, we will be closed. Please call ahead if you are looking to stop by to purchase retail products.
IT’S MY FIRST TIME…WHAT FACIAL SHOULD I PICK?
We recommend starting with our signature iDerm Treatment, a time-tested, results-driven facial that forms the foundation of our services. During your appointment, you can discuss your concerns with your esthetician and customize the treatment as needed. Be sure to mention any specific concerns at the start of your session.
HOW LONG DO APPOINTMENTS LAST?
Most treatments take about 60-90 minutes depending if you add enhancements like Dermaplaning, LED Therapy etc.
DO YOU OFFER CONSULTATIONS?
Generally speaking….No. We believe that the proper way to assess what is best for your skin is to get you on the table, face properly cleansed and perform either the iDerm Facial or it’s simplified cousin, The Express Facial aka “The Wrap & Zap”. This will allow us to answer any questions you may have and explain what we are able to do for you within an appropriate timeframe.
That said, we are always happy to speak with potential clients over the phone or in person schedule permitting. The best way to achieve this would be to contact our office and we will do our best to accommodate you.
DO YOU ACCEPT HEALTH INSURANCE?
Since we are not a dermatology practice, we do not accept insurance.
DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR NEW CLIENTS?
Yes. We offer discounts for all new clients and we also offer package deals for ongoing treatments.
DO YOU OFFER FACIAL PACKAGES?
Yes, we offer a package of (4) facials for 10% off with no expiration date. You can purchase those HERE.
DO YOU DO THE FACIAL ON TEENAGERS?
DERMASPACE does not perform facials on anyone under the age of 15. Clients aged 15 to 17 must have a parent or legal guardian present during their appointment. If a parent or legal guardian cannot be present, we are unable to provide the service.
If a minor arrives unaccompanied, the appointment will be denied, and services will be rescheduled once they can meet the above requirements.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE IDERM FACIAL!
A BRIEF HISTORY
The iDerm Facial treatment was invented in 1937 by German scientist and chemist Dr. Paul Meminger. Using his expertise in medicine and science, Dr. Meminger created a revolutionary system to treat problem skin. The key feature of his technology was the use of galvanic (electrical) currents to infuse vitamin-rich solutions into the skin.
He discovered that this combination of electrical current and vitamins cleansed, hydrated, and rejuvenated the skin, leading to dramatic improvements. This method became the iDerm® Deep Skin Ionization Process, now known in the medical field as iontophoresis, a widely used technique in modern skincare.
WHAT IS GALVANIC CURRENT?
For decades, galvanic current has been applied medically to assist in healing of bone, muscle, ligament and various tissues. Most noted in the early history of electric medical experimentation is Luigi Galvani, who in 1791 was the first person to use electric _current. The “Galvanic Current,” often used today in cosmetology to drive skin treatments deeper into the skin, is named after him.
Fun Fact: The crater Galvani on the Moon is named after him.
IS THE IDERM® TREATMENT SAFE?
The iDerm® treatment process uses a very low intensity current, a milliamper (1/1000th of an ampere) which is both safe and effective for application to the skin.
I HAVE ACNE…WILL IDERM HELP?
We have had great success treating clients with Grades 1-3 acne. Of course everyone is different and it’s going to take a commitment on your part but the iDerm Treatment was designed to treat aging and problem skin such as acne, rosacea and inflammation which is also a leading cause of premature aging.
Please see our ACNE page for more details.
CAN I WORKOUT OR RETURN TO WORK AFTER THE IDERM OR ANY OF THE OTHER TREATMENTS?
In most cases you can return to work - no problem. If you are receiving a chemical peel or doing microneedling/ProCell, you should NOT workout post treatment per the instructions that will be provided to you.
As for the iDerm Facial - we usually recommend not working out since we just deeply cleaned and infused your skin but it’s not a deal breaker. Just keep that in mind.
I HAVE BOTOX AND DERMAL FILLER, CAN I STILL GET THE TREATMENT?
Yes, but you need to wait a minimum of 1 week after getting Botox and 2 weeks after getting Dermal Filler (3 weeks if you get it on your chin)!
WHAT RESULTS CAN YOU EXPECT WITH THE IDERM FACIAL?
The iDerm Treatment is the ultimate skin detox. Right after your first session, you'll notice how clean your skin feels, free from dirt, oil, and dead skin cells. This leaves your skin brighter, softer, and more hydrated, with a youthful glow. For rosacea, the galvanic current calms inflammation and reduces redness, while for acne, it unclogs pores, making it easier to remove excess oil.
With regular treatments, fine lines diminish, skin tone evens out, and your complexion becomes clearer. Jody, owner of Dermaspace, recommends bimonthly or monthly sessions for healthy, radiant skin. For more troubled skin, starting with weekly treatments for the first month is ideal. Your maintenance plan will be customized after your initial skin analysis.
As Jody says, "The more you go, the better the results, which is why DERMASPACE is often called The Skin Gym."
Even a few treatments a year can be beneficial, but consistency is key for ongoing issues.
Everyone is different, and while most see improvement after one session, regular treatments yield the best results.
Fun Fact: The iDerm® Treatment isn’t just for women. Celebrities such as Brad Pitt, Christian Slater, and funny man, Mike Myers, have all enjoyed the benefits of this amazing skincare process.
IS THE TREATMENT RIGHT FOR YOU?
