Have you ever heard of double cleansing?
Double cleansing is a two-part method of cleansing your face. First, with an oil-based cleanser then following with a water-based cleanser. This can help remove irritants, pore clogging impurities, and sunscreen that are sometimes left over after a single wash.
The first step of a double cleanse is using a cleansing oil or balm. The oils help to dissolve the dirt and makeup off of the surface of your skin while not disrupting the lipid barrier to the same extent as a foaming cleanser. This step preconditions the skin and acts as a buffer for the second step.
After gently lathering the oil on your face then you can follow with a normal cleanser which contains more emulsifying ingredients that will remove the oil and debris.
Many of us fear putting oils on our face, especially acne prone skin types. There is no need to worry because the oil washes off with the second cleanse.
Personally, I look for oil cleansers or balms that contain emulsifying ingredients which makes it easier to remove the layer of oil off with the second cleanser.
If you’re still hesitant to use an oil cleanser, there is the option of using micellar water or makeup wipes for the first step of your double cleanse.
Keep in mind, you want to avoid rubbing the skin attempting to remove your makeup or sunscreen as this could be detrimental to your skin.
Sea moss is not only a superstar in the kitchen as that power ingredient to add to your smoothies or any meal for that matter, but it also has AH-MAZING benefits for your skin due to its high vitamin and mineral content and ability to help the skin retain moisture. In essence, it’s a hero for your skin and body.
First, let’s get this out of the way, Sea moss is an Irish red seaweed that grows abundantly on the Atlantic shoreline of Ireland. A type of algae, it also goes by the name of Chondrus Crispus.
Facts on facts on facts; ”Irish moss is non-comedogenic, and hydrating and can remedy dry and irritated skin. It contains essential elements that make up the human body; this includes, but is not limited to, calcium, sulfur, magnesium, potassium, vitamin A and vitamin K—all ingredients that help reduce wrinkles, hydrate the skin, and protect from environmental elements. It’s rich in sulfur, antibacterial, antiviral, and antimicrobial functions, and believed to help with balancing the skin microbiome. High amounts of sulfur can decrease sebum production and assist with breakouts. Psoriasis and eczema can benefit from this powerhouse seaweed as well. Other nutrients found are Vitamin A, Omega 3, iodine, and fiber (fiber is a prebiotic which could increase the good flora in the gut)! If you don’t feel like using this on your skin, you can eat it and work on your skin from the inside out while greatly benefiting your entire body.” - Dr. David Jack, Lisa Borg, Cocokind.
I’ve been using sea moss since the beginning of quarantine, and it’s become my favorite daily mask to use morning or night (or sometimes twice a day, shh). I keep it in the refrigerator because I enjoy the cold gel on my skin, and I leave it on until it’s completely dry. I can attest to the healing and unique benefits of this seaweed. It’s helped tremendously with hydration, clarity of my skin, reduction in sebum, and irritation, hyperpigmentation, and significantly reducing the breakouts on my chin from wearing masks.

When you see an acid in your skin care products, your first thought might be that it is an exfoliating ingredient. Hyaluronic acid is NOT an exfoliator. It is, however, a very important ingredient to have in your skin care regimen
Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that is naturally occurring in our organs, joints, and muscle fibers. However, the largest amount is found in our skin. As we age, we produce much less of it. That’s why common signs of aging include the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, stiff joints and skin that looks dull and shapeless. Thanks to science, we are able to deliver this magical humectant back into our skin with the use of topical skin care products.
Hyaluronic acid’s main job is to attract and bind water into the top layer of our skin. This helps keep your skin hydrated and combat the natural aging process. One gram of hyaluronic acid is able to hold 6 liters of water (insert mind blown emoji!) So you can see the importance that hyaluronic acid has in the skin.
If you're going to use a hyaluronic acid skin care product, it’s important to apply it correctly. You want to apply a hyaluronic acid serum to cleansed, damp, skin so it's able to pull the moisture into your skin. You also want to follow with an occlusive moisturizer to help seal in the hydration. If you don’t apply a moisturizer, that water can evaporate and dry out your skin. Many moisturizers contain hyaluronic acid and occlusive ingredients which allows you to knock out two birds with one stone!
Dermaspace Hyaluronic Firming Boost serum not only contains hyaluronic acid but also snow mushroom extract, which is another natural humectant. Another great option is our Dermaspace Oil Free Hydrating Lotion if you’re looking for a moisturizer that contains hyaluronic acid.
“Reiki” (ray-key) is Japanese for ‘universal life energy. It is also a word used to describe a system of natural healing; this tradition was founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved due to his research, experience, and dedication.
We live in a world of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things. When this energy flows uninterrupted, there is balance and harmony within and around us, and we experience a sense of well being.
There are many variations of Reiki, but in essence, Reiki treatments can help the body emotionally or spiritually. It is a tradition that is open to any belief system.” - Reiki Association
We are all born with the innate ability to channel energy from our well of power or through other channeled means. Everything we have in this life, in the physical world, came from the realm of energy first, and then through physical action and matter, it can be realized in the physical world. The act of channeling energy for healing, wellbeing, and growth is accessible to EVERYONE, not just through reiki or a reiki practitioner administrating a treatment.
Here are a few benefits of both energy work and reiki:
-A noticeable shift in how you feel in your body and see the world
-Removal of subconscious blocks
-Release emotional trauma associated with past experiences
-Heal generational/ancestor trauma regarding patterns and programs of family structures
-Clear energetic ties to negative energies and experiences that are not for your highest good
-Increased clarity and becoming more of an observer of your emotions and situations that can be triggering and be less reactive
-Reprogramming of core beliefs and continuously raising your vibration
-Renewed enthusiasm for life, a profound awakening, and new energy as a result of the transformation
I've been receiving various types of energy work since I was fifteen years old - it's been twenty-three years of constant work without ever skipping a beat; this work is a lifestyle for me.
The benefits are never-ending!

Smells funky but promotes seriously dramatic results. Sulfur is one of the oldest known acne treatments. Historically known as brimstone, sulfur was used in ancient times to treat a wide range of skin problems. Today, it is used in skin care products to help treat acne, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis, perioral dermatitis, fungal acne, and even warts! So I would say that sulfur is a jack of all trades.
How does sulfur work? Sulfur is a keratolytic. Meaning, it softens and dissolves impacted dead skin cells on the top layer of skin known as the stratum corneum. Skin cell build up contributes to acne and many other skin conditions. Sulfur also contains powerful antibacterial, antifungal, and antiparasitic properties. Because of this, Sulfur makes a fantastic acne treatment.
There are many skin conditions connected to an overgrowth of malassezia, also known as yeast, in the skin, Such as pityrosporum folliculitis, tinea versicolor, dandruff, and seborrheic dermatitis. Sulfur is able to inhibit the growth of malassezia which in the end can help with these skin conditions.
There are many different types of sulfur products that are created to target specific skin conditions. Dermaspace Zinc Sulfur Mask is a great option for those who suffer from acne. This product not only has all the sulfur benefits but also contains zinc pca, zinc oxide, and bentonite clay which can help balance out oil production and soothe inflammation. Dermaspace Overnight Spot Treatment is also a fantastic option to target stubborn blemishes. Last but not least, the Iderm Facial Treatment itself benefits skin with the use of sulfur.
As always, if you feel that you may be dealing with a severe skin condition, check with your dermatologist to come up with a treatment plan.
If you aren’t using vitamin C in your daily routine, you need to!
Vitamin C is a marvelous ingredient that can be used to treat and prevent a so many skincare concerns. It is the #1 main ingredient in our famous Iderm Facial Treatment.
It’s truly a powerhouse ingredient but it’s important to understand how vitamin C can benefit your skin before spending tons of money on useless products and slapping it on your face.
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant also known as l-ascorbic acid when in its raw form. It brightens the skin and reduces environmentally induced damage to our delicate skin cells.
Vitamin C antioxidants helps with free radical damage. Free radicals are unstable molecules caused by various environmental factors like sun exposure, smoke and pollution. These little bastards chip away at our collagen which then visibly show the signs of aging like fine lines, deeper wrinkles and dryness.
You have to protect your skins barrier from free radicals so it’s important to ALWAYS use a broad spectrum sunscreen like our DAILY REPLENISHING SPF 30+. Also using antioxidants that have vitamin C is going to protect you even more like our TRIPLE C&E COMPLEX or our VITA-C 20 BRIGHTENING CREAM which is a 20% super strong l-asorbic acid.
In addition to protecting skin from damage and preventing signs of aging from forming, vitamin C can help even out skin tone and texture, as well as treat hyperpigmentation, resulting in a brighter complexion.

Fulvic acid is a star ingredient to look for in your skincare products due to its outstanding and versatile repertoire, but, before you get excited thinking this may be another exfoliating acid to use, you should know it is neither an AHA nor BHA, it's not an acid at all, tricky, right?! However, it very skin-friendly, so no need to worry about an increase in skin woes or a stripped acid mantle (aka skin barrier) if you consider adding in products with this members-only ingredient.
This warrior ingredient is water-soluble and has a smaller molecular structure that makes it an effective delivery system on its own to get vitamins, trace minerals, and vital nutrients to the cells. It's also a terrific antioxidant that helps to fight free-radical damage, has a significant impact on wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin. FYI, most ingredients need to use partner ingredients to give them the ability to penetrate the skin.
Here's where versatility comes in even more; fulvic acid has anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-inflammatory benefits and can be taken orally and used topically. Skin conditions like acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and dermatitis could benefit significantly from fulvic acid. It's also a potent hydrator with its natural electrolyte content to help restore and energize the skin.
As you can see, fulvic acid has extraordinary benefits for everyone, no matter the skin condition or where you fall on the Fitzpatrick scale; this remarkable ingredient assists in every stage of cellular rejuvenation! 🌟
